“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3

Hi friends!

For those of you who know me well, you’re probably having whiplash and wondering wait, what?! Where are you going now? Can’t you just sit still? – And to that I say, right?! I know! Hang tight though, it’s about to get good! 🙂

For those of you who maybe don’t know me as well yet, if you read my about me page you learned that I’ve played a little bit of residential pong pong, west coast – east coast – west coast. And to that I say, there is purpose to it all, Hang tight, it’s about to get good! 🙂

I dedicated my life to Christ in college, I didn’t know what I was missing until I had hit rock bottom mentally and decided to give this whole Christ thing a real shot. From that moment on my life has been radically transformed (and again, for people who know me, that is an understatement)! I learned that there is SO. MUCH. MORE. to life than me. I began to understand (not completely) but really acknowledge and accept the peace that comes from trust in our Lord and Savior! With every step and every move there has been a leap of faith fueled by a heart of trust that God has this completely under His control. So WHY do all this though?

Our sole purpose in this life is to proclaim His name to the ends of the earth and bring Glory to Him! I believe that God has called people to do that in many different ways.

There are certain passions and callings I feel the Lord places on each of our hearts that we can choose to be obedient and lean into or turn the other way. I know that for too long I turned the other way and my past life before Christ is one filled with brokenness and hurt. Through these moments of faith though, leaning into obedience and going where the Lord has called I have learned that our pasts are fuel to launch us into the light where we don’t have to be ashamed if we let the Lord use those shattered pieces! I’ve also learned that sometimes that looks crazy to the outside world.

John Keith Falconer said about missions – “I have but one candle of life to burn, and I would rather burn it out in a land filled with darkness than in a land flooded with light.”

My candle is lit and there is a fire inside me that burns for people who are living in darkness unaware that there is light out there!

I was sexually abused as a child and that was a breeding ground for so much hurt, anger, and mistakes in my life. For me though, I knew Christ was out there but for so long I chose to sit in darkness because I thought I was a lost cause. Some others in this world may have similar experiences to mine and need to know that there is still hope through all the brokenness. Many others though, mass amounts, still don’t even know that there is a hope AT ALL. And that breaks my heart. But most of all, it sparks a passion to GO.

So to answer the question of why – the people in the picture above is why, the ends of the earth is why, the unreached is why, the darkness that so desperately needs light is why, the stories of hurt and brokenness that have yet to be transformed by the love of Jesus is why.

I hope that we all lean into the Will of God and trust Him and begin to acknowledge that the passions He places on our hearts have purpose!! And as I begin to lean in again to just that, I hope that you can support me and join me in this journey every step of the way!
